Trip Decision Review · Written human second look

For a developed trip with one important choice still open.

A second look before you commit to the trip.

You have a trip in mind and most arrangements are taking shape. But perhaps you cannot decide which place to stay, whether to keep a difficult transfer, or whether to pay a balance that cannot be refunded. A human reviewer examines one agreed decision, explains what each option depends on and identifies what to check before you commit. You make the final choice.

The first request is free. We reply about fit and availability within two business days. You decide whether to pay after seeing the proposed scope and delivery date; submitting a request does not reserve a slot.

Before you send a request

For the request: give a short outline, your decision and the date by which you need it. No itinerary upload or medical records. This checks fit and capacity; the trip analysis starts with the paid review.

Before payment: we confirm the review question, scope, US$395 price, information deadline and report delivery date. Privacy · Terms

Already used the Starter Kit?

You can use what you have already worked out. Name the decision in your request. If the review goes ahead, share only the parts of your Trip Snapshot and relevant checks that help explain it.

The Kit helps you compare options yourself; the Review adds a person’s examination of the assumptions and choices in a developed trip. You do not need to buy the Kit first. Nothing in your browser-held Kit is sent to TBL automatically. Do not send your private backup file.

Is this the right time for a human second look?

When a written review may be useful

The main arrangements need to be clear enough to examine, but the decision you want help with must still be open.

This may fit if

  • You are 18 or older.
  • The route, likely place to stay, main transport and key parts of the trip are clear enough to review.
  • You can name one decision that still does not feel settled.
  • A booking, payment or promise is approaching and will make changing course harder.
  • You can share the trip details and material that actually matter to that decision.
  • Your decision deadline and departure are normally at least ten business days away when you request a review. We confirm whether an available delivery date leaves time to act.

Another route may fit better if

  • You are still trying to build the basic trip or work out what version you want.
  • You want someone to make bookings or contact hotels, airlines or other providers for you.
  • You want medical advice, treatment guidance or medical clearance.
  • You need certification or guarantees about accessibility, insurance, visas, airline support or other provider arrangements.

If the main trip arrangements still need building, the self-guided Travel Again Starter Kit may help you develop it.

Choose the decision that matters

What would you ask the reviewer to look at?

The Review concentrates on one choice, such as which of two travel arrangements better protects the reason for going. It looks at the details that could change your answer, rather than revising the whole itinerary.

  • Whether to pay a non-refundable balance for the version you currently have.
  • Whether to keep the current version of a developed trip or change it before you commit.
  • Whether to keep a difficult transfer or use an alternative you already have.
  • Which of two developed versions better protects what matters most.
  • What still needs a clear answer before an important booking, payment or promise.

Why a human review can add something

What can a human review add?

You may already know the advantages and drawbacks of each option but be uncertain which details genuinely change the decision. The reviewer examines assumptions, practical dependencies and what must be confirmed before you commit.

  • Challenge an assumptionSomething you are treating as fixed, necessary or low priority may deserve another look.
  • Look at the trade-off in contextThe review can examine why one version protects the point of the trip better than another, rather than simply choosing the easiest option.
  • Check current facts where they matterWhere it could materially change the decision, the review can look at relevant current public information and show what still needs confirming with the responsible provider or authority.
  • Put the next move in orderYou leave knowing what deserves attention before you book, pay or agree to something harder to undo.

A worked example

Would the hotel closer to the celebration really work better?

This fictional example shows the kind of reasoning the review can use. It is not a customer result and it does not predict what another traveller should do.

A family celebration, with two possible basesFictional example · condensed reasoning

The decision

Stay near the celebration or keep the family’s less expensive hotel before the booking becomes non-refundable?

Option A: stay nearby

A separate room makes rest and an independent return easier to arrange. But its extra cost uses money the traveller has set aside for essential help after returning home.

Option B: stay with the family

The lower price preserves that money and allows more time together. But the room is shared and the return depends on the group. A separate return and suitable rest space remain unconfirmed.

What a simple price comparison misses

Option A’s travel convenience cannot be judged separately from the help its cost would displace afterwards. Option B’s lower price does not establish that the traveller can rest or leave independently.

The reviewer examines which requirements the traveller says are essential, what each version actually provides, and whether the same money or assistance is being relied on twice. The easiest journey is not automatically the best overall choice.

What could change the answer

If Option B can provide a suitable rest space and an independent return within the budget, it may preserve both family time and support afterwards. If those arrangements are unavailable, its apparent saving may not meet the traveller’s requirements.

What cannot yet be decided

Neither version is recommended as workable on unconfirmed arrangements. If Option A removes essential support and Option B cannot meet essential rest or return needs, the next choice is a different arrangement or date, rather than declaring one of these two acceptable.

The next action

Confirm Option B’s rest and return arrangements and their full cost before the booking deadline. Compare that answer with the support Option A would displace. The written review explains how each answer would affect the decision; the traveller decides what to adopt.

How the review works

How we examine the decision

We use the TBL Trip Fit Method to examine the practical arrangements that could affect your choice, including how they depend on one another. This is a travel-planning review, not a health assessment.

See how the TBL Trip Fit Method works →
  1. 01 Get the question clear

Agree on the decision and the point at which it becomes harder to change course.

  2. 02 Look at what could change the answer

Examine the transport, accommodation, timing, rest arrangements and alternatives relevant to the decision.

  3. 03 See what is piling up together

Look for closely spaced demands and arrangements that depend on the same unconfirmed help or service.

  4. 04 Check current facts where they matter

Check relevant public information where it could affect the choice, and identify what a provider or authority must confirm directly.

  5. 05 Separate what matters now from what can wait

Separate essential decisions and unanswered questions from optional improvements.

  6. 06 Put the next moves in order

Give you an ordered set of checks or changes to consider before committing.

What you receive

What you receive in the written Review

A PDF report, usually 6–8 pages, explains what the available options mean for your decision. It identifies what already works, what still needs confirming and the next steps worth considering. It does not attempt to redesign every part of your trip.

  • What stands out and why it matters to this decision.
  • What already works in the version you are considering.
  • What genuinely needs changing or a clear answer.
  • A short ordered list of what deserves attention first, with the reasons.
  • The exact questions worth taking to a hotel, airline, venue, insurer or other responsible provider where needed.
  • What would change the recommendation, and what to settle before the next commitment.
  • One related written follow-up question.

Typical limits

Up to 14days in the trip
Up to 2main places you are staying
Up to 4travellers
Up to 20pages of trip material

The review normally looks at one developed version of the trip. Two ready-made versions can be compared when choosing between them is the agreed decision. Supporting material is limited to five files and 20 pages in total. Your decision deadline and departure should normally both be at least ten business days away. An earlier booking deadline matters even if departure is months away.

Request and delivery

Agree on the Review before paying

Start with a short, free request. You will hear whether the Review fits your question and whether a delivery date is available. The free reply does not include analysis or trip recommendations.

  1. 01

    Send a short request

Tell us where the trip stands, which decision you want reviewed and when you need to make it. Do not send detailed itineraries or records yet.

  2. 02

    Hear about fit and availability

We respond within two business days with a proposed scope, a short clarification request, or an explanation of why the service or available timing is unsuitable. A suitable trip does not guarantee a slot.

  3. 03

Review the written offer, then decide

The written offer sets out the question, limits, US$395 price, information deadline, start date, report due date and offer expiry. Check the terms and pay only if the proposed Review and timing work for you.

  4. 04

    Send the agreed trip details

After accepting and paying, send only the requested trip details and supporting material. The Review starts on the agreed date once payment and complete information are received. If anything arrives late, the delivery date may need to change.

  5. 05

Receive the review and ask one follow-up

Read the report and decide what to use. You can submit one related written follow-up question within seven days. A different trip or substantially different question requires a new agreement.

Keep the decision useful

Use the report in the way that works for you

The report leaves you with proposed actions, unanswered questions and the circumstances that might change the conclusion. You can use it with your own notes or your Starter Kit plan.

  1. Choose what you want to adopt. The report does not change bookings or your Kit automatically.
  2. If you use the Starter Kit, update your working version, Decisions & checks and alternative. Keep provider confirmations separate from the reviewer’s reasoning.
  3. Save a fresh Trip Snapshot. After the experience, record what happened and decide whether any lesson applies next time.
  4. If you do not use the Kit, use the report’s action list with your own notes. Buying the Kit is optional.

If you are still working out the version

Still working out the trip itself?

The Travel Again Starter Kit helps you compare arrangements against your needs, keep checks and alternatives together, and rehearse a possible change. Choose it if you want self-guided tools you can reuse. Choose a Review when one developed decision still needs a human second look. Neither purchase requires the other.

See the Travel Again Starter Kit — US$69 →

If you already bought the Starter Kit: if you bought it for the same trip within the previous 90 days and can share useful completed Starter Kit material, ask before payment whether the $69 purchase can be applied to the review. Any credit must be confirmed before payment.

Practical questions

Practical questions about the Review

Does requesting a review commit me to buy?

No. The request is free. Payment follows only if the scope, available slot and delivery date are agreed and you choose to proceed.

What if the review fits, but no slot is available?

We will say so before asking for payment. You do not have to buy another TBL product or join a waiting list. If your decision cannot wait for an available date, this service is not a timely option for that decision.

Will you advise on my trip in the free reply?

The reply covers fit, scope and availability. Recommendations and examination of trip material are part of the paid review.

Does everything need to be booked already?

No. The route, likely place to stay, main transport and key parts of the trip only need to be clear enough for the agreed decision to be looked at properly.

Does the review include a call?

No. The request, intake, report and follow-up are written.

What if something important is missing?

We may ask one short clarification about fit or scope. Detailed analysis belongs in the paid review. If paid intake information is incomplete, we confirm what is missing and whether the agreed start and report date can still be met.

When would this become a different review?

A different trip, a new main decision or a major change outside what we agreed to review may need a new scope agreement and a separate review.

Can the review confirm accessibility or what a provider will actually do?

No. The review can identify what needs a clear answer and why it matters, but the hotel, airline, venue, insurer or other responsible provider or authority must confirm its own current arrangements.

Is this medical advice or medical clearance?

No. The review examines the trip plan. It does not assess symptoms, provide treatment or medication guidance, or decide whether you are medically fit to travel.

A planning review, not a medical assessment

Trip Decision Review looks at the trip and the one agreed decision within the scope we confirm with you. It does not provide diagnosis, treatment, prescribing, medication changes, medical clearance, fitness-to-fly certification, emergency care, travel-agent booking or guarantees about external providers.

Medical questions belong with an appropriate clinician. Current provider, accessibility, insurance, visa, airline and border requirements should be confirmed with the organisation or authority responsible for them. Read the full Safety & Boundaries page.
