A simple example
The whole weekend does not have to stay intact for the family event to stay worth going to.
This is an illustration of the kind of thinking TBL supports. It is not a prediction about anyone’s health or symptoms.
- What matters
- Being at the family event and having proper time with the people there.
- The first version
- An early flight, sightseeing after arrival, the event, a fixed early departure the next morning and no real space around any of it.
- What TBL notices
- The main event is not the only thing asking something of the traveller. Arrival timing, uncertain room access, sightseeing and the early journey home are all crowded around it.
- A version TBL could build
- Keep the event. Leave arrival day open. Check the room or waiting arrangement. Keep sightseeing optional. Agree the route back before the event.
- Smallest version still worth doing
- Go for the main part of the event, then return to the hotel. The reason for travelling stays; the surrounding day becomes smaller.
- The trade-off
- Less sightseeing and less certainty about doing everything. More room around the part that actually matters.
Why this is different from a checklist
Clinician-founded, with specialist experience in chronic pain.
TBL looks at how the parts of the trip sit together.
A flight may be manageable. A museum may be manageable. Dinner may be the whole reason for going. The useful question is often what happens when travel, walking, waiting, other people’s plans, a fixed timetable and the journey home all land close together.
The Starter Kit keeps those pieces in one place, but it does not simply add them up. It uses governed rules where a connection is justified, keeps assumptions visible, and leaves the final judgement with you.
See how the TBL Trip Fit Method works →How it works
TBL does the first pass. You make the decisions.
You should spend your time choosing what feels right — not filling blank boxes with a plan TBL could have helped build.
- 01
Start with what matters
Tell TBL what would make the trip, visit or occasion worth doing. If travel has been out of your life for a while, you can start with what you have been missing rather than a finished itinerary.
- 02
Bring in what is already known
Useful Mini-Check or Trip Load Scan work can come forward, and you add only the details that actually change a decision.
- 03
Let TBL build some versions
TBL uses the point of going, relevant trip pressures, what is fixed or still open, and a few travel preferences to build sensible starting versions.
- 04
Make them yours
Keep, change or reject the suggestions. Decide what stays, what gets easier, what needs checking and what you are happy to leave open.
- 05
Carry the useful bits forward
Save the full version, keep a small Trip Snapshot handy, and afterwards record anything that is genuinely worth remembering for another trip.
You do not need to have the whole trip worked out first.
Start with an idea, a person you want to see, an occasion you want to be part of, or a real trip that is already taking shape.
Travel Again Starter Kit · $69 once
Find a version of the trip that still feels worth doing.
Start with the part you do not want to lose. TBL brings together what you already know, anything useful from the free tools, and a few ways you prefer to travel. Then it does the first pass and builds workable versions for you to react to — so you are not left staring at a blank page.
What you are paying for
TBL does more than organise what you type in.
It uses what matters to you, what the experience may ask, your stated preferences and useful earlier TBL work to build the first versions and make the trade-offs easier to see.
What you leave with
A full version for planning. A small version for the actual day.
You do not have to remember the whole process once the trip is happening.
Your full working version
Why you are going, the version you chose, what you changed, what is still open, what needs checking, the smaller version, lighter time and your next useful action.
Your Trip Snapshot
The few things most worth keeping close when the trip or day is actually happening — without turning your phone into another long checklist.
A visible “what changed” summary
See what became different because you worked through TBL: what was protected, what was simplified, what needs checking and what you kept ready in case plans change.
Something useful for next time
Afterwards, you can save what actually helped, what mattered less than expected and what you would protect again.
Before you spend $69
The Starter Kit should fit the problem you actually have.
If it does not, use the smaller or more appropriate TBL option instead.
It may be a good fit if
- You want travel back in your life but do not yet have a complete trip.
- You already have a visit, occasion or trip in mind and want help finding a version you would actually want to rely on.
- Several things — travel, getting around, timing, surroundings, other people, rest or flexibility — need to be considered together.
- You want TBL to do a useful first pass, while keeping the final decisions in your hands.
- You want something you can use again rather than starting from zero on every future trip.
Something else may fit better if
- You are not yet sure what kind of help you need: start with the Free Mini-Check.
- You mainly want to see what may be adding up across one trip: use the free Trip Load Scan first.
- Your trip is already well developed and one important decision needs a written human second look: see Trip Decision Review — $395.
- You need medical advice, medical clearance, booking help, insurance advice or an accessibility guarantee. The Starter Kit does not provide these.
What if your current plan is already good?
TBL does not need to invent a problem to prove its value.
If the information you give it does not justify rebuilding the trip, the Starter Kit can leave the current shape largely alone and help you make the remaining checks or decisions clearer.
Practical questions
What you may want to know before buying.
Will it tell me whether I should travel?
No. TBL does not judge whether your body is medically fit for travel. It helps you look at the structure of the trip, compare versions, make practical choices and see what still needs checking.
Could I just use AI?
AI can be useful for research, ideas and comparisons. The Starter Kit gives you a governed, reusable structure that keeps what matters, your confirmed choices, important checks, versions, preferences and useful learning together over time. You can still use AI alongside it.
Do I need a finished trip before I start?
No. You can begin with something as simple as “I want to see my daughter again” or “I want a night away to feel possible.” TBL can help you turn that into a first version before you start fixing all the logistics.
Where does my trip information go?
Your trip work is stored in the browser on the device you use. Your TBL account gives you access to the Starter Kit, but it does not automatically sync the trip workspace between devices. Download a backup before clearing browser data or moving important work elsewhere.
Can I use it again?
Yes. The $69 payment is one-time access to the self-guided Starter Kit. You can use it for future trips. TBL can also keep some confirmed preferences and repeated learning on the same device, so later trips do not always have to begin from zero.
Clear limits
Travel decisions, not medical care.
The Starter Kit does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, prescribing, medication-change guidance, medical clearance, emergency care, legal or insurance advice, provider recommendations, accessibility guarantees or full-service travel booking.
It also does not promise that a trip will be possible or that changing the plan will prevent pain, fatigue or a flare.

Use TBL to build a version worth doing, make the few choices that matter, and keep a smaller version ready without turning the trip into another project to manage.
