Medical & Travel Disclaimer

Effective date: Version: 2.0

This page explains the limits of Ticked Bucket List information, tools, products and services. It also explains which decisions remain with you, your clinician, travel providers, insurers and responsible authorities.

Use Ticked Bucket List for non-urgent travel planning only.

It may help you organise practical questions and possible changes to a trip. It cannot assess symptoms, provide medical clearance, make bookings, issue official approval or guarantee safety, accessibility, insurance cover or travel outcomes.

Do not use this website to decide whether symptoms are urgent.

Seek appropriate medical care for new, severe, rapidly worsening or worrying symptoms. If you or another person may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

What this service is

Planning support, not a professional or official decision.

Ticked Bucket List is a travel-planning support brand operated by Pain Strategies. It provides educational resources, self-guided tools, digital products and written planning support.

Ticked Bucket List may help you

  • notice where walking, waiting, transfers or fixed timing add load;
  • protect the part of a trip that matters most;
  • identify questions to ask a clinician, insurer or provider;
  • plan an easier version, backup option or recovery time;
  • organise one non-urgent travel-planning decision.

Ticked Bucket List does not provide

  • medical assessment, treatment or individual clinical instructions;
  • medical fitness-to-travel decisions or clearance;
  • emergency or urgent care;
  • travel booking, insurance, legal or financial advice;
  • airline, border, visa, accessibility or provider approval;
  • guarantees about symptoms, safety, access or outcomes.

Using the website, a tool, product or service does not create a doctor-patient, clinician-patient, travel-agent, insurer, fiduciary or lawyer-client relationship.

Medical limits

Ticked Bucket List is not medical care or a medical device.

Ticked Bucket List is not a clinic, telemedicine service, emergency service, medical device or clinical monitoring service. It does not provide diagnosis, treatment, prescribing, medication changes, medication schedules, condition-specific precautions or individual medical instructions.

It cannot determine whether you are medically fit to travel, whether a symptom is safe to travel with or whether a treatment, medicine, procedure or health condition makes a trip appropriate.

The founder’s clinical background may inform the planning lens, but it does not turn website use or a planning service into medical care. For a medical decision, use an appropriately qualified clinician who can assess your circumstances.

Travel and official limits

Ticked Bucket List does not control bookings, cover or permission.

Ticked Bucket List is not a travel agency, tour operator, booking service, airline, accommodation provider, transport provider, insurer, insurance broker, law firm, embassy, regulator or accessibility certifier.

References to a destination, route, accommodation, airline, venue, facility, provider, service or public source are given for planning context. A reference is not an endorsement, certification, recommendation, booking, approval or guarantee.

The provider or authority responsible for a service or rule controls the final answer. This may include an airline, airport, hotel, transport operator, insurer, embassy, border authority, regulator, clinician, pharmacist or emergency service.

Important distinction: planning interpretation is not provider confirmation. Public information is not a guarantee that a specific room, route, assistance service, medicine, booking or policy will be available for you.

Information can change

Verify material facts before booking or relying on them.

Travel information can change after a page, guide, tool result or written response is prepared.

Rules and permissions

Entry, transit, visa, health, medication and local-law requirements may change and must be checked with the responsible authority.

Travel operations

Timetables, closures, strikes, weather, transport, assistance procedures and venue policies may change.

Accessibility information

Labels such as “accessible” may not answer questions about steps, lifts, distances, bathrooms, gradients, surfaces or assistance.

Insurance and payment

Cover, exclusions, deposits, cancellations, assistance routes and claims decisions remain subject to the provider’s current terms.

Ticked Bucket List aims to use information carefully, but does not guarantee that website content, tool outputs, public-source information or provider details are complete, current, accurate or suitable for a specific person or trip.

Your responsibilities

You remain responsible for the trip and the decisions around it.

You are responsible for:

  • obtaining medical advice, prescriptions, medication instructions and fitness-to-travel decisions from an appropriate clinician;
  • checking passports, visas, transit requirements, entry rules, official travel notices and local laws;
  • confirming medicine legality, documents, storage and replacement arrangements through appropriate official or professional sources;
  • choosing and checking insurance cover, exclusions, cancellation terms, assistance routes and claim requirements;
  • making, changing and cancelling bookings and understanding the provider’s contract;
  • confirming transport, accommodation, accessibility, assistance, mobility-aid and backup arrangements directly;
  • deciding whether the route, activity, timing, climate, surroundings and recovery demands are appropriate for your circumstances;
  • seeking urgent or emergency help when needed.

You are also responsible for reviewing important information close to travel, because a correct answer at the planning stage may no longer be correct on the day of travel.
